Madden 97

Description

Madden 97 for the PlayStation 1 delivers authentic NFL-licensed football action with an emphasis on straightforward on-field play. The game aims to capture the core pacing and decision-making of a real game, using a simplified play-calling system and responsive controls. Gameplay focuses on selecting plays from a basic playbook, taking the snap, and executing passes, runs, or handoffs while the defense reacts to formations. Players control the offense or defense from a typical football presentation, with a pace that mirrors classic encounters of the era and an emphasis on timing and positioning. Game Modes include a single-player experience against AI opponents, designed for those who want to study plays and improve a team over a session. Platform notes: The presentation reflects the era's typical sports titles, featuring accessible graphics and straightforward stadium visuals along with controls that are well-suited to a couch-based gaming experience. Who it’s For: This title appeals to collectors and players who enjoy traditional football simulations and the Madden series' familiar play-calling rhythm, particularly fans of retro sports titles seeking authentic era-accurate action.
