Network Adaptor Start-Up Disc V2.5

Description

Network Adaptor Start-Up Disc V2.5 for PlayStation 2 is a disc bundled with the official Network Adaptor hardware. It installs a configuration file on a memory card, which can be read by software on the system that supports network features, ensuring the adapter is recognized and ready for use.

Over the years there were multiple regional variants of this disc and it was sometimes rebranded as the Online Start-Up Disc, depending on the model of the Network Adaptor and the console revision. The disc family serves to write and manage network configuration data, which is required by software that supports network features.

To use it, you insert the disc into the console, place a memory card in the appropriate slot, and follow a setup wizard that creates or updates a network profile. The resulting data is saved on the memory card and can be accessed by compatible software.

In addition to the configuration utility, the disc includes instructional videos detailing how to connect the console to a network. These assets provide step-by-step guidance for older hardware.

Who this is for: collectors and restorers who want to preserve the original networking ecosystem, as well as enthusiasts of late-era console peripherals who value authentic setup tools and reference discs.

Context: This item hails from the early to mid-2000s era of disc-based hardware, designed to complement the Network Adaptor and the system's expansion options.
