Triple Play 2001

Description

Triple Play 2001 for PlayStation is a baseball sports game that recreates on-field action through pitching, hitting, and fielding. The title emphasizes season play, playoffs, and a Home Run Derby, delivering a 3D presentation characteristic of the PlayStation era.

On the field, players control the core baseball actions—pitching, batting, and fielding—using a straightforward control scheme. A standout feature for its time is the behind-the-fielder camera, which places you over the shoulder of the defender to track balls and field plays more intuitively.

The game includes single-player and multiplayer modes, along with a full season, playoffs, and a Home Run Derby.

Graphically, the PS1-era presentation shapes the look and feel, with polygonal players and stadium environments. The game uses the standard PlayStation controller, with support for optional analog input for smoother motion and pitching control when using the right hardware.

Collectors and retro baseball fans will appreciate Triple Play 2001 for its era-authentic mechanics, accessible gameplay, and a dedicated Home Run Derby mode that adds arcade-style variation to the lineup of season play and head-to-head matchups.
